When you first login to Liberty91, you'll be directed to the Workbench. This is your 'tool shop' where you can find anything you need, as well as the resources to learn how to do them. Initially, there will be a green 'onboarding' card there. It contains steps for you to go through to quickly learn how to set up your Liberty91 instance. Below you will find some helpful instructions on how to complete these.
Creating clusters for your company (your brand), region and sector are the first steps to training your instance of our AI-stack. It's actually very simple to do.
When you first create your account, you are prompted to create your company name, region and sector. If you have skipped that part, or want to change the information you provided, go to your User Profile (click on the face on the top right of your screen, then 'My Profile'). There, under 'My Profile', you can provide your company name, region and cluster. Click on the blue 'save updates' button.
Here you can bulk-add new clusters to your profile. Your company name, region and sector should be auto-populated. Just click on 'submit' to create them, and you're done.
If, for some reason, they are not auto-populated, just type in:
on row 1: the name of your company, your chosen criticality ('High' or higher is appropriate), and 'company' under asset type. If you want to add a keyword here, you can (if your company name if 'Kentucky Fried Chicken', you should add 'KFC' as keyword, so it will capture as many mentions as possible.
On row 2: the name of your sector, your criticality, and 'sector' under asset type. The same guidance about keywords apply here.
On row 3: the name of your country, city or region. Choose 'region' as asset type and follow the same steps as with company name and your sector.
Click on submit.
Creating Company Clusters (which are the things you are protecting) are an important second step to training your instance of Liberty91's AI-stack. You don't HAVE to do this, but the more details you provide, the more accurate your analyses will be.
You can create clusters manually, by populating and uploading our excel template, by uploading a csv-file, or by using an integration. Every one of them is easy.
Here you can bulk-add new clusters to your profile. Provide the name of the assets, suppliers, et cetera. Also provide their criticality (ie: how important they are to you), the type of asset, and optional keywords.
When you're ready, click 'submit'
Peter works at a Financial Institution and wants to add the 'Society for Worldwide Financial Telecommunication' (SWIFT) as an asset, and WordPress as an attack-surface element. For the first row, he provides 'Society for Worldwide Financial Telecommunication' as Asset Name, sets the Criticality to 'Severe', sets Asset Type to 'Asset' and provides 'SWIFT' as a keyword.
In the second row, he sets WordPress as the Asset Name, sets criticality to Low, provides 'attack surface' as Asset Type, and leaves Keyword empty.
Using the Excel Spreadsheet is quicker and easier. You'll provide the same information as on the website, but it is much easier to copy-paste information from other documentation you might have internally. It will also allow you to share the spreadsheet with your colleagues, who might want to monitor for the same things.
Click on 'Upload Excel Spreadsheet'
Download the template excel spreadsheet
Fill in the excel spreadsheet following the same steps as with the 'manual' example above
Save and upload your excel spreadsheet
The manual-upload page will appear, but it will be populated with the data from your excel spreadsheet.
Click on 'submit'
You can't use your own excel-spreadsheet, or change the lay-out or design of the template. The filename doesn't matter, but Liberty91 expects to receive the excel-template's lay-out to create new clusters.
Adding clusters with a CSV-file is a convenient way of creating new clusters in bulk. Our users use this feature when they export a list of vendors or assets from another tool, for example. Just make sure the format is correct.
Click on the 'Upload CSV-file' button
Upload your CSV-file
The file should contain the following values, in this order:
name, criticality, classification, keyword
The following values are expected:
Name: the name of the asset, threat, VIP, etc
Criticality :How critical you consider this asset or threat to be. Options are: baseline, low, medium, high, severe, emergency. Numbers between 1 and 6 (1 for baseline, 6 for emergency) are also allowed.
Classification: the type. Options are: asset, attack surface, people, data, sector, region, threat, other.
Keyword: Liberty91 will create a collection of complex search patterns based on this keyword. Ideally this is the same as the 'name'-field, but that's not always ideal. For example, if your asset is called 'cloudflare load balancer', it would make sense to use just 'cloudflare' as keyword.
A well-formatted .csv-file looks like this:
Creating clusters through an integration
Creating clusters with the Library Wizard
By using the Library Wizard, all you have to do is click on the threats, assets and suppliers (in that order) you have or care about, and your clusters will be automatically created.
There are a few different ways to create a Threat Cluster.
Here you can bulk-add new clusters to your profile. Provide the name of your cluster ('Threats from Russia' or 'ransomware' for example). Also provide their criticality (ie: how important they are to you). Choose 'Threat' in the Asset Type option, and optionally add keywords (for example: 'Holland' if you have a threat cluster called 'Netherlands').
When you're ready, click 'submit'
By using the Library Wizard, all you have to do is click on the threats, assets and suppliers (in that order) you have or care about, and your clusters will be automatically created.
Creating threat clusters from the Threat Cluster menu
You can go straight to the 'Threat Cluster' menu in the sidebar to create a new Threat Cluster.
Click on 'Threat Clusters' in the sidebar (you may have to scroll down)
Click on the big green plus with the text 'Create New Cluster'
This will take you to the Cluster Creator.
To personalize your profile you have to go to your User Profile, which is where you can set your preferences. Some of these are very important, like your Alerting Threshold and timezone. You can get there by clicking on your avatar in the top-right corner of the screen, then on 'My Profile'.

Using an integration is by far the easiest way to upload and update your company clusters in Liberty91. For example: integrating with an Attack Surface Management Provider like allows you to conveniently upload your attack-surface elements, but also to keep them updated. An integration like that will allow you to regularly check for an updated status of your inventory, attack-surface or suppliers. Your Liberty91 Instance will never go out-of-date.
Look for the latest list of Integrations in the . Contact us if you'd like to see a new integration we don't have yet.
When it comes to cyber security, there are things you are protecting (your etc), and things you are protecting those things against. In Liberty91, those things can be , and . Those can be grouped together in a 'bucket' called .
